Valentine's Dinner/Dance, February 13, 2010

Just an update - Plans are in the works for another Valentine's Dinner/Dance, Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the South Campos Community Center, Poblado Delicias. The fabulous band, Vatas Locos, who had the joint rocking last year, will be returning to rock the joint again! So mark your calendars. As soon as the plans are finalized - ticket prices, food, so forth - we'll have posters put up & put the info on the blog. If you would like to volunteer to help out with the event, please give Sharon Jones a call on Channel 69. It's gonna be fun......... :)Sha

BIBLE CLASS TOPIC

THE RETURN OF THE PRODIGAL SON, will be our six week study beginning Tuesday, October 20, 3:00-4:00PM. at the Community Center. This story from the Gospel of Luke is timeless and is sure to have different meanings for us at different stages of our lives. If exploring the Bible is new to you, this is a great place to start. If Luke's story is a familiar one, we encourage you to bring your knowledge and join us for a lively discussion.

The first big get together will be Oktoberfest and Bingo at the Community Center. Please make your reservations early by e-mailing southcampos@yahoo.com (it works now) or calling on Channel #69 to Kathy. The price is $8.00 at the door for a dinner of bratwurst, sauerkraut, home made potato salad, green salad, roll and apple strudel. Of course BYOB. Hope to see there.

Kids Halloween Party - October 30, 2009

There will be a Halloween Party for the Poblado Delicias kids, Friday, October 30, 2009, at the South Campo Community Center. Flyers are forthcoming. All donations of candy (regular or sugarless), or toys would greatly be appreciated. Boxed drinks (all flavors) & Halloween cookies (slaved over a hot stove home baked or your favorite grocery store special) are welcome. Last year due to everyone's generosity, the kids had plenty of candy, cookies, & drinks & many, many thanks from the Community Center Crew who had the fun of watching faces glow & smiles grow bigger when they received their Trick or Treat bag or a prize for coming in first in a game or having best costume. It is sooooo much fun seeing the kids in their costumes. So thank you for everything. And everyone is cordially invited to come & join in - whether to lend a hand or just to enjoy seeing all the costumes.... Come on down.....

Greetings!!!!!

Greetings from all us "Baja" people to all the other "Baja" people. What fun......:) Can't wait for the season to start. See you'll on the beach in Baja................ :)Sha

End of the Season

Well, it looks as if we are coming to the end of our season. A lot of the people have already left or will be leaving soon. We have certainly ended the season with a BANG however with our SCEG Chili Cook-Off team winning the Peoples Choice award. Go Jim, Rob and Georgia!! The Saint Patrick's Day dinner and the Poker Run were also very successful and were handled with aplomb by all involved.
Hope to see everyone who is left at the last potluck on May 20!! Have a great summer and see everyone in the fall.
